Fashion News | Matches Fashion Launches Sustainable Edit

The fashion industry can no longer ignore the need for more sustainable options. Whether your customer is high-street or high-end, consumers are looking towards sustainability as a huge part of their shopping decision-making.

Matches Fashion is the latest fashion business to make their move when it comes to sustainability.

And their answer? The Responsible Edit

In partnership with Eco-Age, this week, Matches have added a new edit to its iconic list. Where you can also find The Activewear EditThe Event Dressing Edit and The Vacation Edit, you can now find The Responsible Edit. This latest collection is packed with sustainable designer labels, making it easier for those who fancy making an eco-conscious effort when it comes to shopping luxury fashion.

Curating beautiful, designer pieces into one sustainable spot, The Responsible Edit includes pieces from brands that are making waves in the sustainable fashion sphere. Working with both established and new labels, the edit is broken down into four pillars; Artisans, People, Charity and Materials. For a label to be ticked off as responsible for the edit, it needs to fit into at least one of these pillars.

Matches make it clear in its Responsible Edit introduction on the site that this is all about progress and not perfection. They want to showcase brands that are using initiative and innovation to make a change in the industry. Read more about the edit and how the labels were selected on the Matches Fashion site

The move by Matches Fashion really showcases that fashion retailers are taking action. Not only is there pressure from environmentalists to make changes in the industry, but customers are now shouting out for better options too.

Is sustainable and eco-friendly fashion on your customer’s agenda? And will you be making changes within your business to reduce your carbon footprint, choose more sustainable fabric and production methods and ensure that your fashion business is not left behind?
